Thoughts off the Glass

Lent ……. Day Twenty-Six

Lent ……. Day Twenty-Six

“How merciful is the way God has guided me.  Never has He given me the desire for anything which He has not given me, and even His bitter chalice seemed delightful to me.” (Story of a Soul, 152)
St. Therese of Lisieux

When you go out to eat and you are done with your meal, the server often asks you “Is there anything else I can get for you?” and often your reply is “we’re good”.

It’s funny then when God has presented us with an abundance of gifts that when up wanting more.   And for some reason we think that God has abandoned us.  Look at the Israelites in their exodus from the pharaohs .  God presented manna each morning for them to eat and then they complain that they only have manna to eat.  We are able to provide shelter, food etc. and we complain we can’t go on vacations.

We should examine today’s gospel from John 9:1-41  where the blind man is healed by Jesus.  When the pharisee’s questioned him on who healed him and the fact that he was healed.  Then Jesus found him  “When Jesus heard that they had thrown him out,
he found him and said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
He answered and said,
“Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?”
Jesus said to him,
“You have seen him,
the one speaking with you is he.”
He said,
“I do believe, Lord,” and he worshiped him.”

We should all be thankful and worship God.
